The Scorching Obsidian Flame is burning! Don’t miss our League Challenge for August! Please note that this is a premier event, and as such we are requiring Deck Lists to participate. Those decklists will be collected during the registration process.
Date: 9/28/2023
Registration Opens: 5:00 PM
Registration Ends: 6:55 PM
Gameplay Begins: 7:00 PM
Entry: $10
Format: Standard
Prize Support/Structure: 3 Packs of Obsidian Flames per entrant per division (if division has more than 4 players) into the prize pool
(Distribution of prize is at the discretion of the manager on duty)
Tournament Structure: Swiss-style tournament with the number of rounds based on player attendance. There will not be a top cut.
Minimum Trainers Needed: 4
Please keep the following in mind as you prepare –
THERE IS NO PRE-REGISTRATION; just arrive early the day of the event and register in-store. Staff will be on-hand to direct and facilitate your registration. Bring your Play! Pokemon ID with you as this will be required to play (if you need one, we can issue you a new one on-site)
DECK LISTS ARE REQUIRED; While we will have blank decklists available, we recommend printing and filling out your list in advance. If you need a means to do so you may fill out and print this online version and bring with it you – http://pokegym.net/decklist/pokemon.htm
ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING; a 60 card Standard-legal Pokemon deck (sleeved, in good condition), a Pokemon Coin (or clear 6-sided die), damage counters (6-sided Dice are permitted), and a V-Star Counter
RULES QUESTIONS: At any point in the game, a player may call a judge for assistance with a ruling or interaction. The judge will not be able to issue you any advice about the game state or what decisions you should make.
TRADING: While trading is fine, please note that buying/selling items with anyone other than Cool Stuff Games staff (or soliciting to do so elsewhere) is against both our rules and the law. Doing so may result in both the buyer and the seller being removed from the property, both being permanently banned from returning and/or the police being notified.
Cool Stuff Games also reserves the right to limit the amount of space being occupied by any one individual while trading, and does not allow the use of suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. to be used for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
All food & drink must be kept off the tables except for where signage says otherwise.
Horseplay, roughhousing, rude/disrespectful/discourteous behavior, and foul language are not permitted.
Report any lost or unattended item(s) to a Cool Stuff Games staff member.
