Hey, my friends and I were hoping to start playing D&D, but as you can imagine, it's a bit overwhelming. We were hoping that you would have some sort of beginner group we can join and learn the ropes of the game.

At the moment, unfortunately, we cannot afford the core books, so if we must bring our own, I'm sorry to say we can't attend. We hope to be getting part-time jobs very soon though, and we hope to get the core rulebooks then.

So, just wondering if you have some sort of beginner's group that we could learn the ropes in. (We played with the demo but it was hard to learn without somebody with knowledge of the game, etc. etc.)

You're in luck. Cool Stuff hosts bi-weekly DND nights every other Thursday. Come by the store this Thursday (2/25) at 6:30 and you should be able to find more than a few people who could help you out. The group is very newbie friendly.

What edition will you all be running? This will give me ample time to prepare.

We are running 4th Edition for our adventures.

Excellent! I had checked out the local RPG Roleplaying Meetup.com groups and everyone is on Pathfinder. Great system, but I'm invested in 4E so having a store to settle into when we move there end of October will be cool.

Hopefully a mature gaming group is looking for a new player!

I was thinking about checking out your guys game if its okay. If so is there one this thursday and what are the restrictions on what kind of characters i can bring to the table. Like is it D&D encounters (Essentials) only or is any character legal.

Hey, I've never played D&D before, but I'd like to start. I was thinking about coming by this Thursday. If you're up for taking some time with a new player I'm in. Otherwise, I'll probably stop by to see if its something I'm interested in.

Do you guys run other similar RPGs? COC, Paranoia, etc.?

  5. Brett says:

I stopped in today to see what the store was like, and to my dismay, it seems that its geared entirely around card games like magic. I was hoping for RPG's and gaming groups. i got nothing against ppl that play card games, but they just arent for me.

Hey I wanted to know if you still run D&D nights, and if so, what's the crowd like? As in what's the average age and how serious are they? I'm new to the game and am looking for a place to start playing. Also on a side note, do you sell D&D miniatures?

Any chance that Cool Stuff will be running Lair Assault events? I'm forming an Orlando area team and I'm looking for as many venues as possible to hone our min/maxing and 4e tactical skills.
