2010 L5R Kotei – Saturday, April 17th 2010

Join us in April for the Legend of the five Rings Kotei 2010. Registration will begin @ 8:30am with announcements beginning @ 10:30. $30 gets you access to the Kotei as well as the side event. Pre-registration is available for $25 via Paypal or through check or money order until March 29th. Pre-registered folks will receive their choice of 2 booster packs or a special item to be named later. You can get all the details here.
We will be having a canned food drive for the Winter Park Daycare (an America’s Harvest Partner) as part of the spirit event. this is a great opportunity to come down and have fun while also helping those in need. It’s a win-win no matter how you look at it.

MTG Make Your Own Standard – This Saturday!

Join us this Saturday for our Magic: The Gathering Make Your Own Block tournament! Simply choose 2 blocks (you can find a list here) and one core set (Alpha through M10) and build a deck! Boosters packs will be awarded based on attendance and this will be a sanctioned 16k event. Registration begins at 1pm, game play starts promptly at 2. See you here!

Weekend in the Realms – Saturday November 7

CoolStuffGames will be hosting the Dungeons and Dragons Living Forgotten Realms – Weekend in the Realms on November 7th. The games will start at 9am and run through 11pm. We’ll be running the following games:
Week 1-4 Icy Queen’s Crossing – Lvs. 1-4
Waterdeep 1-1 Heirloom – Lvs.1-4
Special 1-1 Shades of Zhentarim – Lvs.1-4
Dragoncoast 1-2 Thin Grey Line – Lvs.4-7
Waterdeep 1-2 Dark Secrets of Downshadow – Lvs.4-7
Waterdeep 1-3 Woolmen’s Restless Tomb – Lvs.7-10
First slot starts at 9am and goes till 1pm and will feature Week 1-4, Special 1-1 and Waterdeep 1-2.
The second slot will be from 2pm till 6 pm and will feature Dragoncoast 1-2, the continuation of Special 1-1 and Waterdeep 1-1.
Slot three will start at 7pm and will feature Week 1-4, Waterdeep 1-3 and Waterdeep 1-2.

This week saw a wide variety of decks reach the Top 8, a nice break from the dominating Kithkin and Faeries of weeks past. Monoblack vampires and monowhite soldiers were joined by Grixis control, Jund midrange and 4 color-cascade, among others. Check out the full deck lists below.

Zendikar Release – October 2nd and 3rd

Come join us for our Zendikar Release Celebration in Orlando!
We’ll be warming up to the release with $12 drafts on Friday starting at noon. The celebration will then kick off on Saturday with registration starting at 12pm and a 1pm game start time. It’s $25 to play sealed with a cut to Top 8 draft. Prizes will be based on attendance with random door prizes given out throughout the day. Everyone receives free pizza and soda as well as the Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle promo (while supplies last).

Friday Night Magic – September 11, 2009

The store was packed this Friday as players gathered for Friday Night Magic. They traded cards, reworked sideboards and discussed the changes that the up-coming rotation would bring to the game. In between rounds players gathered to play impromptu games of Planechase and random games of “We Didn’t Playtest This At All,” a new game that is as much fun as it is absurd. Everyone recharged on a slice of free pizza before round 4, but ultimately only 8 players stood above the rest.
