Orlando Board Game Association Meeting – Saturday October 24
The Orlando Board Game Association will be conducting a meeting this Saturday at CoolStuffGames. There will be newly designed games being showcased for a chance to win admission to the Chicago Toy and Game Fair. You can read Neal Ekengren's message below for more information.
1PM - 10PM - Game Designer Tournament
In keeping with the theme of our Rio Grande Finals at 2PM we are going to play your game that you have spent so much time designing.
Please bring a copy of your game and at 1PM you can give a BRIEF 3 minute introduction to your game.
- What is your game about and what are the general game mechanics?
- How long did it take you to make it?
- How many times did you change the rules?
- How many people have played it?
Later, you can teach people how to play your game if they are interested.
The tournament winner will be the person who wins the most Game Designer games during the entire day (1 win per game, and you cannot win your own game). Prize announcement coming up.
2PM - Chicago Toy and Game Fair Design Competition for Rio Grande Games
We will take a brief break from all the games being played so that Patrick Mathews can present the 2 finalists in the competition. Our winner receives free admission to the Chicago Toy and Game Fair and a 30 minute time slot with Jay Tummelson to present and discuss their prototype. A highly qualified Judges panel will choose the winning game. These 2 games are also being entered in the Game Designer tournament.
